Thief ….Sound recording of my Poem about domestic mental abuse and violence

This is the link to my recording of my poem Thief

You stole my mind

Just for a time

The things you did

Should be a crime

You tore me down

You crushed my soul

You tortured my brain

With the lies you told

You twisted truth

Till I could not tell

What was up

 what was down

What was normal

What was hell

It lingers still

In the dark of the night

In the edges of my brain

Where you planted your dark light

The doubts of myself

The fear of new pain

There are parts that you broke

In my poor injured brain

I am glad that I left

I wish that you were really gone

But you’re still in my mind

When the lights

Are not on

    1. Thank you 🙂 It was kind of fun to make the recording. It was the first time I tried to learn SoundCloud. Another blogger posted something a few months ago that had a sound recording on soundcloud and I always wanted to try it after that. I am glad I finally got around to it. It is funny how that Avoidant Personality Disorder that I have will make me put something off (because I am afraid of some aspect ot doing it ) and then when I finally get up the nerve to do it, it was not bad.
🙂 There must be a lesson in there somewhere.
I listened to a recording (on a vynal record – that dates me LOL) when I was in 5th grade. It was a reading of the Edgar Allen Poe story The Tell Tale Heart. It gave me chills. It was so good. I have always remembered that and I was thinking of that recording when I did this.
I am glad that the eerie came through LOL
Thank you for your feedback. I will try to do another one soon.
Lots of love and positive thoughts sent your way,
