Poem for Your Teen and Preteen Daughters

Who are we trying to impress
with our compliance to
their ever changing rules?
Who will have our backs
when the crowd turns against us?
The more we try to fit in
by following the crowd,
the more we become dependent
upon the crowd
for our existence
With all of our eggs in one
fickle basket
I dare say we are
destined for destruction
Be yourself
Be unique
No one can take that from you
