Your Personal Space and Your Mental Health


It can be easy yo become lost within the roles other people force upon us. Family members, church groups, social groups, and society all have their own ideas of who we “should be.”

It is understandable to try to fit in and to want to keep the peace with people. Having to fight for our own boundaries, roles and identity can be draining. If you grew up in a situation where emotional boundaries were not respected, then it may be even harder for you. Children growing up with people who prioritize their own agenda, to the point of discouraging the child to express themselves, never get a chance to develop a strong sense of self.
