What is the Meaning of Blogging?

I had to take a break from blogging for a few weeks, due to needing to deal with a financial emergency. I have managed to begin to recover the situation now, and I am glad to be back here to say hello to all of you. 

.

 

I missed the connection with all of my lovely followers, and the gentle clicking of the laptop keys as I watch the words flow out as if they have a mind of their own.

.

Words can have magic and power. They have the power to inspire and uplift. And they have the power to destroy and crush.

.

Some people wield words to brag and give the impression of importance in the grand story of their lives.

.

Others use words to manipulate and to lure unsuspecting victims to their demise.

.

 Still others, simply seek to reach out for that elusive human connection, and to convey compassion and deep meaning to the readers. 

.

And some writers seek to entertain, to delight and bring laughter and inspiration to their readers.

While others see writing as therapy and a way to discover and express the thoughts both hidden and exposed.

No matter what, words are a tool that are used by each person in their own unique way. We are all connected in the universe and part of a greater humanity.

The feelings and experiences of one person, can be felt and related to …by someone on the other side of the world.

.

Blogging is a way for us to hang onto our humanity, in a world that continues to get more technical and where people spend more time staring at screens than they do into the eyes and faces of other people.

.

 What are  the things that matter the most to all of us? What are the questions and the puzzles that we seek to solve?  

.

What are the emotions and thoughts that arise from the farthest reaches of our subconscious, when we lay in bed at night? 

.

Let’s see what you have to say.

Write your thoughts and feelings down. See them flow out from your fingertips and onto the laptop screen.

Need Some Posting / Publishing on WordPress Help

Does anybody know how to set the setting back to PUBLISH NOW, if the setting has inadvertently been changed to a SCHEDULE ONLY setting?

I used to have the PUBLISH button right there on the left, and I just hit that when I was done writing my post. But now it just says SCHEDULE later. 

I want to be able toe PUBLISH now, without having to figure out what time to schedule it, especially because my WordPress time is off and I am not even sure what time I am actually scheduling the posts to go up. 

I tried looking through the WP setting and other places I could think of to alter settings for posting. but I found nothing that had to with this issue.

Any help from other bloggers is appreciated about this.

It is a beautiful sunny day in New Jersey today. The temperature is in the high 60’s…truly perfect.

Getting 15 minutes of sun on your face and arms, every day, helps with vitamin D processing. The body can become low on vitamin D, if you do not get in the sun ever.

Low vitamin D can be a factor in depression. Being in nature is also known to help with anxiety and depression.

Personally, my vitamin D usually comes up extremely low. The doctor has told me many times that I need to get into the sunshine every day…or at least a few days per week.

So today is a good day for it. I hope you all can get outside for a few minutes today.

A Message for You

I have not posted in a coupl3 of days. I have not been feeling well. I think I have some sort of a sinus infection combined with anxiety from PTSD.

I fell asleep when I gor home today at 6 pm and just woke up now at midnight. I am goung to go back to sleep after I do this. I just took some pain medicatiin for the headache.

The weather in New Jersey has been beautiful. Hopefully tomorrow I will sit outside for awhile. If I get to the house I babysit at early, I can sit in their porch.

I feel like the sun will help whatever is dragging me down. If it is not better tomorrow then I will figure out how and where to be seen to get antibiotics. But I would prefer it dissipate on its own.

The message that is on my mind for you is to be more aware of your real truth, and your authentic feelings. Here are some things you can practice this week.

1. When sitting or laying comfortably, focus on your body and how the energy feels and how each part has sensations.

Start by bringing your attention to your toes. Focus on the right foot toes and notice the sensations in them. See if you can feel energy flowing through them.

Then focus on your left foot toes and observe the sensations and feelings in each toe. Do this with your feet. Then your fingers and hands.

It will bring your mind’s attention inwardly towards your sensations and away from anxiety and the thought patterns that start anxiety.

2. Look up yoga postures and choose 2 that you can do easily. Practice these pistures a few times a day, for a few minutes each.

3. Get ingredients for fresh salad…Romaine Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cucumbers….whatever you like. And a nice light dressing like an Asian Ginger, or something with a nice flavor.

Notice all the flavors and textures, as you are eating the salad. Each ingredient having it’s own energy and benefit for your health.

4. Take a pause before making decisions and choices. Don’t go on automatic pilot all day. Feel the sensations in your body and what they are telling you about how you feel about the choice you were going to make. Rethink and when you can, make a conscious choice, rather than a subconscious reaction.

5. Realize that the people around you will not change for you. If there are needs you have that are not being met by the people in your life, find a place where people are most likely to be tbe kind of personalities, and spiritual consciousness levels, that are more likely to support your needs.

6. Expise yourself to something that will allow you to laugh freely. It might be a tv show, a person, a group of people, a place or anything you enjoy.

Don’t imprison yourself into situations with no joy and no laughter. Break out of those places and people when you can.

If I could be an animal I would choose a butterfly. They can fly wherever they want to and see all the beautiful flowers. They are like fairies.  They come in beautiful colors and no two are alike in color combination.

1- For you, what is the meaning of beauty? Beauty is different for different people. Everyone has their own personal style and some people change their look based on their mood. There is no one “right” look. 

2- What is the must beauty product you can’t go a day without? The only product I use everyday is lotion on my face. I also love baby powder and I like to use eyeliner when I am in the mood. 

3- What is your opinion about the “perfect” image  social media’s putting out there, in the      magazines and etc.about the perfect body and  flawless skin a girl is supposed to have? I think it is detrimental to girls and women for the media to portray a “perfect image” of how women “should” look and how they should dress and wear their makeup. 

4- What makes you feel beautiful? I feel beautiful based on connecting with people in a meaningful way and by dressing the way I feel like dressing.

5. What made you create your blog? I did not know much about blogging when I created the blog. It was just out of curiosity to find something to do.

6- Do you have any tips when it comes to beauty? If yes, what are they? You should feel comfortable in your own skin. Don’t choose clothing or makeup to please others.

7- What is your favorite scent? Lavender Vanilla

8- Do you think that taking care of your hygiene is important? Yes because it helps your self esteem.

9- Do you see yourself as a full-time blogger? Why? Yes. I blog every day. It is part of my daily life.

10- Did blogging made any positive impact in your life? If yes, what is it? Yes. Blogging has helped my self esteem. It has helped me feel connected to other people.

All the Comforts of Mom ?

From time to time, I look up a random topic of interest to me, just to learn something and also to see if it is something I might want to write about. As I was doing this tonight, I came upon this diagram, which I thought might make some interesting discussion is the comments section of this post.

I was researching  “transitional objects” which are objects that children have in order to help them transition to being away from the comfort of their mother. This diagram is supposed to symbolize how the object helps the child transition from the comfort of a loving mother, to self comforting with an an object like a teddy bear.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find this image of the mother less than comforting? 

Oh my God, I think if this was the mother I would need a comfort object just to be around her !

She looks psychotic and creepy to me. Isn’t it weird that of all the drawings they could have made for the comforting mother, that they made this one?

Is it just me, or is this picture disturbing ? She looks like she might eat the baby for dinner…

I wonder what this artist’s idea of “mother” really is?  I assume this drawing was made particularly for this diagram and that the face was supposed to depict “comforting.” 

Very weird…

Hopefully this poor baby’s teddy bear has a more comforting face than his mother does.

Follow Your Dreams

People will try to force you into a box. You are supposed to fit into one of the pre-made boxes of society. Your family may also expect you to fit into a box that they have assigned to you. 

You only have this life to be free and to experience all that you can and all that you want to. If you are stuck living in someone else’s box , then you cannot spread your wings and fly. 

The boxes are all the same ones that other people have fit into before. It just makes you a cardboard cut-out of other people. But you are unique and unlike anyone who has come before you.

You have can blossom and follow your own dreams. Listen to your true inner voice. Every time you push your true voice down, your authentic self is rejected. This rejection lowers your self esteem and self confidence. 

It is bad enough that other people minimize you, reject your ideas, and try to mold you into something you are not. You do not have to do it to yourself. 

The tendency to undermine yourself, and minimize yourself is something that was programmed into you by other people, when you were young. Any guilt you feel about expressing yourself, is also programmed into you by society and / or your family. 

Beliefs that you hold must be examined carefully , so you can let go of any beliefs that no longer serve you.

Your ideas are valid. They do not have to be perfect.

Ideas are starting places to create your unique path.

Your dreams are there for a purpose.

Don’t let anyone tell you what you can and cannot accomplish. You can figure that out as you follow your heart, your true thoughts and your real values. 

Humanity of Writing

Writers Can Touch The Humanity In Their Readers

Humanity is messy, lonely, complex, sad, magical, mystical and beautiful.  In order to touch your readers in personal way,  pour your real feelings and original thoughts and ideas into your writing. Share your personal reality, and the truth as you perceive it, without trying to go along with the what others tell you that you are supposed to believe. Writing is where you can be real.
