Okay here is the rest of what is asked for this award…

I started my blog before I knew anything about blogging. I had no information or predetermined view of blogging. I knew nothing about the blogging community at all.

I was reading a post by Martin Armstrong because a friend of mine used to like to read that blog to me over the phone. One day I simply followed the link at the bottom of one of his posts because I was curious about what WordPress was.

I decided to open a blog and write a few posts. It became very fun for me and I was quickly drawn into the blogging world and the blogging community.

Advice to other bloggers – be yourself. Make your blog unique and representative of you. Do not worry so much about catering to others because there will always be someone who will complain about matter what you do. There will always be people who will read and enjoy your blog, if you are just being yourself.

You do not have to post this if you do not want to. But it will be helpful to you in order to keep your focus and your passion for your work and other things you do 🙂

Here are the answers to the Questions I was asked

What are your views about my blog?

I like your blog. It is very interactive with the readers. It has a variety of different topics that are meaningful to your readers.

  1. Who do you consider your blogger twin?
  2. I have never heard this term before. I guess it would be someone who has similar values and messages to yours. I am not really sure who I would choose as a blogger twin.
  3. What is your favorite book?
  4. The Five Love Languages
  5. One inspirational song?
  6. Don’t You Worry Bout a Thing by Stevie Wonder
  7. Your favorite quote?
  8. Live Love Laugh
  9. One way we can be a kinder person?
  10. Try to suspend any preconceived ideas about someone based on their race, religion, color, clothing etc. Get to know them for the individual person that they are inside.
  11. One of the bloggers you can’t miss a post from?
  12. Blahpolar Diaries

  13. One writing trick that you use?
  14. I do not really think of writing that way. I write posts differently depending on the type of post. I guess I would say to write as if the person reading it has no idea about the topic at all. Explain things you are talking about or give links that would be helpful if they do not know the topic.

Sorry about all those numbers along the side. They followed me when I copied and pasted and I cannot get rid of them. I think they are stalking me !!!! AHhh

Sunshine Award :) Nominees

Sunshine Award

I would like to thank Iridescent Spirits   for nominating me for the Sunshine Award. I always appreciate being thought of and I enjoy passing the award on to others.

If you have been nominated for The Sunshine Award and you choose to accept it, write a blog post about the Sunshine award in which you:

Thank the person who nominated you.

• Answer the questions from the person who nominated you.

• Nominate 5 to 10 other bloggers.

• Write some questions for the bloggers you nominated.

• Notify the bloggers on their blog.

• Put the award button on your blog.

Now here are my answers to Iridescent Spirit’s questions:

1. Name three positive and negative traits of you!

1. I can connect with people one on one, in a meaningful way, if they choose to open up to me.

2. I treat each person as an individual and keep an open mind about who they are, what their experiences have been and why they might be the way they are

3. I am good at interacting with dementia patients and can develop meaningful relationships with them at the level that they are able to.

My Answers to Iridescent Spirit’s Questions

1. Did you start your blog with a certain purpose? If yes, then did you reach it?

No, not really. I did not know anything about blogging or the blogging community. I did not even know there was such a thing as a blogging community.

I started the blog in October. I had been reading posts by Martin Armstrong, a brilliant economics and history specialist. A friend of mine liked Martin Armstrong and he used to read the posts to me  over the phone. One day he sent me a link to one of the posts, When I looked at it I saw that it said WordPress, which I had never heard of before.

I followed the WordPress link and found out more about it. I decided to try to write a few articles off the top of my head. The first one was about finding some quiet time in the middle of our busy day, to just meditate and relax. I think the second one was about OCD because I had just done the test for that online.

I was hooked very quickly as people began to read and comment on my posts. My name for the blog was gentle kindness because I think the world needs more of than and it is my preferred way of interacting with people.

The blog kind of evolved into a mental health focused blog, as time went on, because those were the posts that people seemed to like. I added on the element of healing from domestic abuse a bit later on.

2. What did you gain with your blog you are the happiest for?

I think the main thing that I gained was better self esteem. My self esteem was low at the time and it has gotten better since I have been blogging. I am happiest for being able to meet people and interact with them in a meaningful way. It is wonderful to be able to meet people from all over the world, that you never would have met otherwise.

3. Do you believe in fate? Does it have anything to do with your blog?

No, I really do not believe in fate. I believe that if you take a step, even a little one, that it will lead you to doors that you can choose to open and to go into. Each new door allows you access to more doors and more possibilities. You choose what doors to go through as you go along. You never know where one small step could lead you , a few doors down your path.

4. Does blogging affect your personal life? If so, then how?

At this point in time, blogging is my personal life. Aside from my kids, and working on starting my own business, I do not have a personal life per say. (is that spelled right?) Sometimes the bunny gets jealous  of my blogging, and hops up onto my keyboard and just sits there until I pet him.

5. What would you like your blog to be known for?

Eventually, I would like for my blog to be known for Life Coaching, particularly helping people get through the aftermath of abusive relationships. Also for connecting with other people about mental illness and the struggles to coexist with the “normals”

6. What are your life goals?

To find someone to be my best friend and intimate partner.

To be able to support myself and my kids by working at my own home business.

7. What do you look for when reading another blogs?

I look for truth, creativity, individuality, kindness, uniqueness, passion and some sense of humor is always nice to read

Nominees for the Creative Bloggers Award

These are my nominations for the Creative Bloggers Award

I have taken the time to make each of the blog titles below clickable. Please check out some or all of them. These are all creative in different ways.

If you have been nominated, I will also contact you on your blog. You can copy and paste the badge from the top of this post. Other details about the rules are in my Creative Blogger Post Here.

Ladybug Creations

  –  Young Woman Artist / Blogger Lot’s of Talent and Heart !  Take Some Time to Enjoy  Her Beautiful Drawings ! Here is her drawing of Elsa from Frozen.

Broken Light A Photography Collective  –

– A mental illness advocacy blog. showcasing the photography talents of people with various mental illnesses. Check out the talented artistic photographers. The posts are organized by the type of mental illness being depicted in each photograph. Pick Your Poison, so to speak ! Which one of your mental illnesses would you like to see an artistic rendition of? I really enjoy this blog and I just came across it yesterday. Communicating about how mental illness feels is great through writing, but the artistic version has a visual element that writing does not capture.

John Coyote ..Poetry, Story and Real Life –

– John’s blog is filled with wisdom, inspiration and truth. His poems and stories reveal the deepest inner turmoil, darkness and light of the human condition. I find the blog both intellectually stimulating as well as artistically satisfying. There are wonderful stories of American Native Wisdom and Spirituality that speak to the soul in a meaningful way.

Kelzbelz Photography –

– Her blog features stunning photography which makes me feel passion and emotion when I see it. Her photographs can lose you in them. She has some writing here that about her struggles that many of you will relate to in some way.  There are also some wonderful drawing called Zentangles. Take a look at her lovely photographs and artwork.

Butch Country , Life and Love on the Canadian Prairies

–  A windowed man shares his struggles as a now single Dad. Transparency, honesty, real love and compassion, and resilience of one man, as he tries so hard to do the job of two, when his soul mate is no longer able to help him. There is great depth to this blog and I think you will find that it speaks to something inside of you.

May Desert Flower –

– Such lovely poetry and others of it will touch into the sad and fearful places in your mind. Very real and honest, creative and artistic. Love, pain, beauty all rolled into one lovely blog. One of my favorite poems is here.

Ishallrhyme –

– This is a wonderful poetry blog. The poems are timeless and easy to relate to. They touch the heart and inspire creativity for my own poetry. Here is one of my favorite poems of this called Stay Still.

Blahpolar Diaries –

-this is a blog dedicated to bipolar disorder awareness. It is very creative and has a variety of types pf posts, to keep it interesting to read. There is a recurring LinkDump where the author gives us a variety of different articles, poetry, songs and other bipolar related links. There are personal posts as well as informative posts. This blog has more interaction in the comment section than I have seen in other blogs. This is because the posts open up communication between the writer and the readers…and also the readers with each other.

Learning to Live and Appreciate Life –

-this is a blog by a young blogger. The blog is about balancing life experiences with meditation, peace of mind and mindfulness. This is a newer blog that I see lots of potential in. This  blog has possibilities of reaching and helping  many people. There is a personal aspect of dealing with OCD and how to use mindfulness practice to deal with that struggle.

Healing Your Grief –

This blog is about healing from various types of grief. Everyone experiences grief of some kind, during their lives. Sometimes it can be over a death and it can also be grief over the loss of our former selves or our dreams. This blog has a variety of posts and is laid out in a creative and interesting way. Here one  my favorite posts called    Feeling Our Emotions

Inner Dragon –

This is an excellent blog that has an eclectic variety of sections. There are posts about mental illness, personal posts, original cartoons (mental illness themed), poetry, and a music section. The focus topics are depression, aspergers, OCD and ptsd from domestic abuse. It is honest and there is a of interaction in the comment section between the author and the readers. Here is the comic that made me feel a little better on Christmas day, because I realized that I was not the only person that felt like this on Christmas.

The Never Ending Path –

-this blog is for writers and is mainly focused on writing fiction. There are valuable articles about improving fiction writing and blogging. It is by the up and coming author OzarkScyfyWriter

The Musings of Puppy Doc –

– This is a very interesting blog that speaks of humanity, compassion and kindness to living things. The author is a doctor, a musician, a poet, an animal lover and a great lady. The blog has a variety of things including human interest, photography, humor, and wonderful poetry. Definitely one of my favorite bloggers, here !

The Creative Bloggers Award … YAY !

I have been nominated for the Creative Bloggers Award by Lisa from the Rebirth of Lisa Blog

Thank You Lisa, for choosing my Blog !

Here are the rules:

• Nominate 15-20 blogs and notify all via their social media/blogs
• Thank and post the link of the blog that nominated you (very important)
• Share 5 facts about yourself to your readers
• Pass the rules on to them

Random Facts About Myself

1.  I recently learned how to make the words change colors and I am having  WAY TOO MUCH  FUN  playing with it !  L O L

2.  I also write for the TMU (Thoughtful Minds United ) Blog and sometimes guest post for the Kindness Blog

3. My comfort foods are Veggie Straws , raw almonds, and peach wine coolers (fuzzy navel)

4. I drink too much coca cola. I used to drink diet but had to change for health reasons. I actually think that my coke drinking is part of a weird eating disorder where I make up for the calories from the soda by restricting food.

5. I am very happy to have loyal followers that are supportive, kind and inspiring

6. I have trouble sticking to restrictions like “write 5 facts”, even when I set the rules myself ! I have often started a Top 10 post that ended up a Top 14 and a half post LOL

7. I will post my nominees later today. I like to choose blogs that I have not previously nominated, when possible. Although sometimes there are reasons for giving someone an additional award. because the awards are for different things.

8. I do not like to worry about hurting people’s feelings about these awards. but they are chosen out of evaluation of the blog. the effort into the blog, the theme and how it fits into the type of award.

I once got a nasty comment from someone who thought I should have nominated them. They were not a regular follower of mine and did not even now me well. I am not sure why they read my post about the award and then left the comment, but it bothered me. This is the reason that I need to write this about how I choose blogs.

There are no hard feelings and I do not think in terms of “leaving people out”. I follow over 100 blogs and sometimes I like to look outside of my usual reads, to find new blogs to nominate.

9. Ok. Hopefully that will reduce my anxiety about that.

10. I am deciding about mu dinner right now. I think I am going to make the girls tacos for dinner. It is one of the few things they will both eat.  LOL

11. Some of the posts I have written as guest posts for other blogs are. Yes I have been very Busy !
