My Funny Bunny – Stream of Consciousness Saturday

Sometimes I have to pause while I am in the middle of being busy, doing things in the house. I hear some little paws and wonder what they are up to. I wonder if that bunny of mine is ok.

So, I take a peak and see he is sitting comfortably in his cage. I go back to work in the house and set about my business. In a minute  I hear a bell ring. Then in a few seconds I hear that bell ring again.

It is the bunny ringing his bell to get my attention. I got him this bell a year ago. I remembered that a bunny I had long ago used to ring a bell when he was ready to come inside from playing in the fenced in yard.

So I got this bunny a bell. It was in the bird section of Pet Smart. I attached it to the top of the cage. He can reach it with his little nose and ring. He knows very well now, that I come when he rings.

You might say that he has conditioned me similar to Pavlov’s dog….or is he the one who is conditioned? Actually I think we are both conditioned. He knows to ring the bell when he is hungry and I know to jump when he calls.

But the funny thing is that sometimes I answer the ringing. put food in the cage, get him all settled, and then he rings.

He is not ringing for food. He is not hurt.

If I ignore this type of ring, he will get very frantic in his ringing, the longer I do not come. Until he is banging the bell with his little nose, back and forth.

So what is he ringing for?

When I get there, I open the cage. He sticks out his head and brushes against my hand. He tucks his little head into the palm of my hand and stays there.

He is calling for love.

January 2 Pause / Paws Writing Challenge HERE

The above  writing is for the Stream of Consciousness Saturday challenge. You can see more information about this HERE at the Linda G. Gill blog

Here are the rules:

1. Your post must be stream of consciousness writing, meaning no editing, (typos can be fixed) and minimal planning on what you’re going to write.
2. Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be. One sentence – one thousand words. Fact, fiction, poetry – it doesn’t matter. Just let the words carry you along until you’re ready to stop.
3. There will be a prompt every week. I will post the prompt here on my blog on Friday, along with a reminder for you to join in. The prompt will be one random thing, but it will not be a subject. For instance, I will not say “Write about dogs”; the prompt will be more like, “Make your first sentence a question,” “Begin with the word ‘The’,” or simply a single word to get your started.
4. Ping back! It’s important, so that I and other people can come and read your post! For example, in your post you can write “This post is part of SoCS:” and then copy and paste the URL found in your address bar at the top of this post into yours.  Your link will show up in my comments for everyone to see. The most recent pingbacks will be found at the top.
5. Read at least one other person’s blog who has linked back their post. Even better, read everyone’s! If you’re the first person to link back, you can check back later, or go to the previous week, by following my category, “Stream of Consciousness Saturday,” which you’ll find right below the “Like” button on my post.
6. Copy and paste the rules (if you’d like to) in your post. The more people who join in, the more new bloggers you’ll meet and the bigger your community will get!
7. As a suggestion, tag your post “SoCS” and/or “#SoCS” for more exposure and more views.
8. Have fun!

Bunny is Straightening my Bedroom

20150506_011638This bunny of mine is so funny. I let him out when I clean his cage every few days, and I  let him run around my bedroom for a while. Eventually he gets tired and usually goes back into his cage on his own.

The first thing he does when he comes out to check out the room and make sure everything is where he remembers it to be. If something is not in the proper place, he moves it if he can.

He has a certain pathway that he likes to be clear. It is from where I have the cage to where he can get behind the small white bookshelf. If something is in the path, like a tee shirt, or a little stuffed animal, he gets ahold of it and tosses it to the side until he is satisfied that his path is open.

He takes a few minutes tidying up like that and when he is happy with the room being straight, then he goes behind the bookshelf and chills out.

Every now and then he comes out to see what I am doing and to make sure I am here. He does not like when I leave te room to go to the bathroom or anything. When I return he is always waiting neat the door.

Then he sees me come in and gives me a “ok that’s better” look and he runs off behind the white book shelf again. I have thought of rearranging the room a little,  but I think I will have to leave that shelf right where it is. I don’t want him to be trying to drag that back with his teeth to the right spot ! LOL

Bunny Hunting Around my Room for the Veggie Straws

This bunny of mine is so funny. I dropped some Veggie Straws on the floor, out of the bag and he ate them. He loved them. He went all around the room looking for more of them.

He found the bag that I had sitting on the floor next to the bed and stuck his cute little nose in it.

I know he should not have too many of them, but I gave him a few of them and then put the bag up on the counter.

He was so cute eating the veggie straws. he loved them so much, I think he would have eaten the whole bag. I will have to watch where I leave it. LOL

Time for all Good little Insomniacs to catch the Bunny and then go to Bed

bunny face

MY HEAD : It is 2:26 am…time for all good little insomniacs to go to sleep.

MY HEAD: What ? You have to catch the bunny first?

ME: Yes, He is hiding in the bedroom somewhere. Probably behind the white bookshelf, where he likes to rest.

MY HEAD: Ok, well see if you can get him to come out.

ME: That is going to be tricky. He has his own mind about things. But, hang on…I will try to get him to come out….

ME: Bunny, Bunny ! My favorite sweet bunny, who always obeys Mama….

MY HEAD: No, he doesn’t!

ME: Shhh!

MY HEAD: Go on already…

ME: Bunny , Bunny…Time to go into your cage. Mama loved having you hopping around the room and dancing around my feet while I was working in the kitchen. Mama brought the cage in  here, so you can sleep next to the bed to keep me company. Please come out from behind the white shelf and go to bed. Mama is tired…

BUNNY: I am comfortable here, behind the white bookshelf. I just got all settled in.

MY HEAD: Oh, you won’t get him to come out now. How are we going to sleep?

ME: Stop nagging me. I will get him to come out…

BUNNY: You sound very confident of that. LOL  but I will be a good bunny , I am not behind the shelf. I am sitting right at the bottom of your bed.

ME: Oh look at you ! Such a good bunny. Come on. I will tuck you in. Kiss Kiss.

BUNNY: Goodnight Mama Annie

ME: Goodnight bunny 🙂

Don’t Forget To Love and Hug Your Pet On Valentines Day ! :)

hug your pet

Pets give us unconditional love. They are unlike any human, in that they do not judge us at all, Even the people that try hard not to judge, still have a subjective view of us and notice our faults.

Our pets just love us. Even when our hair is messed up. Even if we gain weight. Even when we are tired ans sick. Even if we do not feel sociable or talkative. They listen to us and respond to our voices. They make us smile and laugh.

They know us and love us, just the way we are. Here are a few very short videos, I have given you here. You can see my sweet bunny and how he gives me hugs and kisses 🙂

My silly bunny is peeking his ears up next to my bed right now…no..whoooop!…he hopped up on the bed with me. If he gets jealous of the computer, he will come sit right on the laptop. (one time he actually took my cell phone right out of my hand and tossed it on the bed! ) LOL    Here he comes…..

Nope, he is hopping around the bed and fiddling with my blankets.

Good Night from Annie and Bunny,

I need to put him away for the night now. Let’s see if he will go in his cage….Nope ,,,gotta go catch him first ,,,LOL

Good Night from Annie and Bunny,
