So, here are what the grocery stores and Walmart looked like in Tennessee today.

How are things looking where you are ?

    1. Oh wow, I didn’t realize you were in TN.
I was living in New Jersey, a couple of years ago, when I first started on wordpress. So when I first started reading your blog, I was in NJ.
But I have been living in Oak Ridge for a year and a half.
This is crazy how the stores are running out.
People’s fear is now creating a whole new problem that we didn’t need.
But now what choice do we have but to buy food and things that might be impossible to get soon ?
      It is stressful.
Thank you for taking the time to say hello.
Stay in touch and let me know how things are going on your end.

  1. If we didn’t know any better, you’d think that we’re living in Venezuela. This looks exactly like the shortages they’ve been having with the humanitarian crisis. And now it’s a global crisis (different reason but in many ways similar).

From what I’ve heard there’s a toilet paper shortage here in Alberta. Also, bread is hard to find these days. I haven’t had a chance to go grocery shopping these past couple of weeks and have left that up to my husband. Idk what to expect when I step foot in one of these stores tomorrow…..

    1. I’m glad you have food right now. 💗
Because of the fact of other people are cleaning out the stores, I don’t think we are left with much choice but to buy what we can also.
I wish so many had not panicked and started the run on the grocery stores .
But now we have to do what we need to.
      💐
      Stay safe and stay well.
Thank you for taking the time to say hello, and to let us know what’s happening in Alberta.

      1. Toilet paper is back in stores and they have put limits on how much people can by at a time. Because I’m stuck inside and cooking a lot at home now, I’ve been experimenting with recipes. I’m playing a little game with myself called “pantry zero” where I’m trying to clear out the food in the pantry during this coronavirus crisis. So far I’ve made pretzels and Jell-O shots. This week I’m hoping to make pizza calzones. 🙌

  2. Here in the UK it’s a bit patchy. The shelves empty of certain types of stuff but most of it gets restocked in a couple of days. But slowly the lines that don’t increase. Currently in our local shops stuff like pasta, liquid soap, hand gel, painkillers, tomato purée, boil rice, toilet paper are like gold dust.

    1. Thank you for sharing that. 💗🌺
I have a client in Russia , and she said that everything is like normal there.
So every country is not being affected the same way.
Someone from Canada just commented that Alberta is being affected.
So it’s interesting to hear from people about how things are going so far, in their area.
      Stay safe and be well,
      Annie 💗

  3. The same in Belgium. Workers can’t keep up with filling the shelfes. We don’t have shortage that I know of but toilet paper, cleaning supplies and food that doesn’t spoil are in the top 5, next to hand sanitizers, mouth masks and bleach. It’s crazy!

    1. It seems to have escalated quickly , in many countries. I think even the countries that dont feel like they are affected yet, will be, when the supplies of certain things start running out online and worldwide.
      It’s so crazy.
We’ll have to do our best to anticipate and stay ahead of things.

  4. And I thought here in Spain we are weird… also the same thing people robbed the supermarkets although paying so I guess the supermarkets are doing fine. Teeeenesseeee! If people there took those measures now I know we are in trouble.

    1. Yes I think we are in an amount of trouble.
I am trying to remember my motto “panic is not your friend”….but I was concerned last night when I was in the 24 – hour Walmart and they announced they were closing in 15 min (at 10 pm) .
That walmart never ever closes , except on Christmas day.
They were out of everything on the shelves and they announced for everyone to “bring your final purchases to the registers because we are closing ”
So that felt a bit scary to me.

      1. Here in Spain all the supermarkets I saw today where empty shelfs, I do think people tend to over react, yet at the same time if it wasn´t for the over react people, people like me would be already dead.

  5. I’m in the UK and we don’t have a state of emergency – yet so things are looking okay. Your shops look like the end of the world is coming! However, My hubby had to get out of Spain quickly yesterday as they’ve now gone into a state of emergency. The petrol stations’ doors are shut so you can’t get in for drinks or food but you can pay by card for petrol – through the little window, wearing plastic gloves. All the motorway signs are reading “Stay at home”, “Don’t drive if you don’t have to”.

Just got the message, he’s now on the ferry waiting to cross the border from France to the UK. Hope he doesn’t bring it back with him 😦

    1. Thank you for letting me know. I am glad he got home safely.
The UK is likely to soon get to the conditions we are in , here in the US.
Try to be ahead of it. Pick up toilet paper, non- perishable food, tylenol and any medicines.
And try to get hand sanitizer and lysol wipes , if you are still able to find them.
Stock up as best as you can , prior to people doing a run on the groceries.
      Stay well. Be safe.
      Stay in touch. 💗

  6. In western md, big chain stores are cleaned out in a similar way but are expected to restock soon. However, small family owned local stores and specialty grocery stores still have plenty of stock and could use the extra business.

    1. That’s good information. And you are right about those small family owned businesses needing the extra business.
Thank you for sharing about what’s going on in Western Maryland.
I grew up in Maryland, in Baltimore County and Balitimore City. I still have sisters that live in MD and one that lives in PA.
Stay well and let me know any updates.

    1. It might depend on where you live. I do Instacart Grocery Delivery, and I get a lot of customers that have gluten free items on their list.
I have been finding that some of those gluten free items are out in the stores , especially in the frozen food aisle.
But it varies, depending on the grocery store I get sent to.
The grocery store where the higher income people shop is more cleaned out of gluten free stuff.
I think it depends on whether people can afford it or not.
Some stores are still stocked with gluten free food , because the people cant afford to panic buy the expensive food in bulk ,whether they need it or not.
