Buddhist Meditation Poem

Quiet peace

Silent mind

Still body

Calm breath

Self Acceptance

Self Forgiveness

No guilt

No debt

No attachment

No bereavement

No fear

No remorse

No regret

No torment

No violence

No pain

No depression

No anxiety

No confusion

No shame

Just quiet

Just peace

Simply Being

Pure Existence

  1. I have been listening to talks about meditation on youtube. I am learning about it but I cannot achieve silence of my thoughts yet.

I wrote this as I was thinking about what the goal is.

I love the talks by the Buddhist monk named Ajahn Brahm. You can listen to his talks on YouTube.

He does talks that help me with anxiety. You can look at the topics he has. If you are interested i will link you one or two of my favorites. There are a couple of his talks that i have listened to 5 times.

He also is very funny and tells funny stories. He is not what you would think of as a monk personality.

    Love,

    1. Thank you so much 🙂 I am very glad to hear that. I was having a conversation with a friend about using key calming words and phrases to induce a state of calm. I wondered if I could create a poem using words that were calming. I practiced saying this poem out loud and I felt calm. It seemed to help with anxiety.
I am happy to hear it worked for you as well. Thank you for the encouragement. I will try to write another one. Also I am a musician and I could write a song. I would like to try that too.
So nice to meet you 🙂

      1. So nice to meet you too! 🙂
I deal with a lot of the feelings you’ve described (general anxiety, OCD, depression), and I also love a lot of the things you’ve mentioned (yoga, music), so it’s so cool to connect with someone with similarities. I look forward to reading more of your writing 🙂
